Am I a Network Junky?

I am a trainer and a professor of CITE, a technical vocational school for less fortunate youth, in Cebu for the past 10 years. A life coach and motivator for young people on how to face life at its best. I made a decision in Oct 2005 to quit from employment so I can really make the effort to come up with a business of my own.

I have already options what to take whether in the website development, traiding business, eco-tour services, and lastly the network marketing business. I'll just share the network marketing story and how I end up doing it because for the past 10 years I really hated it due to the negative conotations and feedbacks that I got from my friends. And for me, I hated the thing that I will sacrifice my friendships by getting them be involved in the business or to make money from them.

I started the network marketing business through a good friend in August 2004 introducing me a healthy beverage green iced tea drink. It took me close to 2 months to really decide to make a decision and try it. I had put the effort to study and learn the system, asked some of my friends about the industry and also read some books and going over the internet to know more about it and come up with the decision to start it part time after work.

I plug into the system and really had all the trainings and support that I need to be successfull in it. The good thing that really brought me in this was that it really give me the opporutnity to increase my circle of friends and getting to know people from all walks of life, having also the opportuntity to travel locally and in Hong Kong expanding the market, and also empowering myself to be better and help others as well. For more than a year with the company am partnering with, I really had the hard time to look for leaders and duplicate the system and business mindset to my team members. It really came to a point that my efforts and resources are not really compensated enough so I decided to stop after thinking over and looking beyond in terms of trends and market competition on Oct 2005.

Recently on Jan 2006, I decided to be part of a BIG and a wellfunded network marketing company based in Provo, Utah, with innovative products, run by strong management team, addressing the trends in health and wellness, home-based business, with a very revolutionary compensation plan and the great timing to be part of a legacy position in the foundation stage.

Am I a one of the network junkies? You can tell in my next post. So far what ill tell you is that I had found the next BIG giant, who just happened to be a baby growing to be the next big thing in the health and wellness industry.

Lessons Learned:
1. Be open and learn to look for opportunites being offered. According to Ray Knoc, If you are in the right place, and in the right time and do something about.

2. Be teachable and coachable. Find someone or mentor you can consult with or your sounding board for you not to commit great mistakes and be successful.
